Fans can check out PlayStation’s official PS5 site by clicking here. At the time of this writing, it doesn’t have much to see. It displays the PS5 logo, confirms the holiday 2020 release date, and promises that the “PlayStation 5 is coming.” It also includes a message that is worded in a way to make it sound like PS5 enthusiasts may have to wait longer to finally learn more about the new console.

The message on the site reads: “We’ve begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we’re not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation.” It then encourages fans to sign up to receive updates on the PS5 release date, price, and PS5 launch games. The “we’re not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation,” bit has led some to believe that a PS5 reveal isn’t coming in February as previously predicted.
Of course, it’s possible that this website was put up in preparation for a PS5 reveal event in February, but that remains to be seen. Sony has remained tight-lipped about when it will be revealing the PS5, but if the new console isn’t shown off this month, maybe fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see it.
While a PS5 reveal event for February has been the most prevalent theory about when Sony will show its next-generation console, another rumor says that the reveal event will actually take place in March. Other rumors still have pegged March as when PS5 pre-orders will go live, so there is some corroborative evidence between these claims. But again, fans should keep their expectations in check until an official announcement is made.
It’s unclear when Sony will reveal more about the PS5 in an official capacity, but this site going live is a big step forward. Hopefully it’s updated with more details on the PS5 sooner rather than later.
